Gwen Henson's Story:
I started training with Lori in November of 2009, and nothing has been the same since!
As a whole, I’m an active person and don’t eat a lot of junk.
I’d go in streaks with lots of running and/or going to the gym …but I’d been spinning my wheels for a few years- stuck at 146.
I didn’t know what I was doing wrong, and that’s when I approached Lori for help. My number one goal was to get below 130 and stay there.
I like muscle, and like having a very specific goal, so we set our sights for me to compete in the Texas Shredder Classic, Figure Division in April 2010.
I’d started keeping a food journal, and one of the first things we did was analyze my nutrition.
Lori showed me that while I had some good habits, the fact that I ate too little and lacked balance during the week was just as big of a problem as the free-for-all on the weekends! She gave me a nutrition plan where I was never hungry, and designed a workout plan for me with a purpose.
I faced the holiday season with no problems. I was able to enjoy all my favorites at family gatherings. But then I was able to get right back to my clean eating and stayed active through the holidays because we had a plan. I lost weight in December!
From the ver
y beginning, Lori has been there with an encouraging word any time I needed it, and provided the accountability that I was looking for. We made many small adjustments to my program as needed.
Everything Lori advised had a specific purpose- her knowledge is extensive.
I got a new menu and new training plan every 4-6 weeks, and she gave me all the guidance and advice I needed to be ready to compete in April.
She helped me with everything from make-up, hair, shoes, suit, my tan, jewelry, posing and competition prep week.
I am pleased to say that I placed 9th out of 35 women in my height class. I blew right past my weight goal, and weighed in at 122 lbs the day of my competition!
I trust Lori completely, and I plan to continue to train with her long term, for my personal fitness and for future shows.
